Michael G. Hurston’s Bio
In 1999 I began my career in the creative services industry focusing on corporate identity, branding, trade-show graphics and marketing collateral. For the last decade I have been working on taking the skills I learned from design, typography and color theory to help make the web a better place.
I’ve worked in numerous industries including commercial real estate, convention and visitors bureaus, non-profits, charity foundations, university and medical devices. Regardless of the industry my focus has been on creating a seamless transition from my clients printed collateral to a world of digital marketing and user experience.
I’ve constructed SEO based micro-sites, managed significant amounts of web content for an entire city and dealt with the intricacies or government regulated subjects. Many clients have called me Web Master, Content Manager, eMarketing Manager and Overlord. No really, that was an actual title I held.
I’m a big fan of many open source communities and because of this I primarily work with Drupal and WordPress on Linux environments.
