Ally Companions are finally coming to Elder Scrolls Online!

The new Blackwood area for Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), part of the Gates of Oblivion expansion, will allow players to unlock Companion characters. As mentioned on stream, Companions are still being balanced and some changes may come prior to release. Below is what we know so far from today’s stream.

  • These NPCs will be unlocked via quests within the new areas.
  • Earning reputation with them will increase their ability.
  • Companions can be assigned different roles, such as Tank, Healer, DPS and will be usable in other maps and locations across Tamriel.
  • Companions will not be allowed in PVP or Solo Trials and will be able to be unsummoned by the player as desired.
